Abstract

Abstract : ( BMJ . 2019;365:l1516) Preeclampsia is characterized by hypertension and proteinuria, and has been associated with renal dysfunction. There is a lack of information on the effects of preeclampsia on renal function in the years following pregnancy. Studies on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy have found mixed results concerning the risk of chronic kidney disease. Understanding the potential links between preeclampsia and kidney disease could help identify women at risk for kidney disease after pregnancy. This study aimed to explore the potential association between preeclampsia and later kidney disease, focusing on the type of kidney disease, gestational age at delivery, and time since pregnancy.
