Abstract

Abstract : This article revisits and re-evaluates the Eriksonian branch of psychohistorians, whose influence peaked in the early 1970s before seemingly and perhaps unjustly falling out of sight. Why? Should we abandon these scholars altogether, as many have, and start over with a primarily British discipline called psychosocial studies? Or is there and should there be a bridge worth the trouble of crossing between the American psychohistorians and psychosocial studies today?
