Abstract

ABSTRACT: Closure is a central yet ambiguous term in comics theory. To more fully analyse the inferences produced by juxtaposed images, I propose a categorical system that expands on previous attempts; but rather than labelling discreet transitions types, I divide closure into inference types that occur in combinations.
