Abstract

ABSTRACT: This qualitative study draws upon 164 instances of coded responses about worship from 60 individuals attending Methodist services in rural contexts. It explores the 'ordinary theology' that many expressed about what worship means to them, and seeks to take seriously these responses to begin to draw a picture that sees rural Methodist worship from the perspective of the pew.
