- Abstract: There are various hazardous wastes produced lots of environmental pollutions. These wastes are also very harmful to human health. One of the most hazardous waste is leather waste. This study aims to extract collagen from leather waste and use it in the development of aluminium-based composite with Al2 O3 ceramic particles. Microstructure image showed the presence of collagen powder and Al2 O3 in aluminium alloy. Corrosion loss of Al/1.25% collagen/1.25% Al2 O3 composite was found to be 0.05 mg. Volume difference of Al/1.25% collagen/1.25% Al2 O3 composite after the thermal expansion was found to be 30 mm 3 .
