- Abstract: A new lanthanide metal-organic framework (MOF), {[Eu2 (BPS)3 (H2 O)4 ]·18(H2 O)}n (1 ) with a wavy infinite chain secondary unit, has been prepared via utilizing 4, 4′-bibenzoic acid-2, 2′-sulfone (H2 BPS) as the ligand under solvothermal conditions and characterized via single crystal X-ray diffraction, element analysis, TGA and PXRD. Due to its good water stability and strong emission under UV irradiation at room temperature, 1 could be used as a luminescent probe for acetone molecules. Furthermore, the inhibitory effect of 1 against bacteria was explored. The inhibitory effects of 1 on gram positive and negative bacteria cells were detected by RT-PCR. ELISA was performed to evaluate the IL-1β and TNF-α in the plasma. Graphical Abstract:
