- Graphical abstract: In this manuscript, we designed and synthesized a novel nopinone-based fluorescence probe for simultaneous detection of N2 H4 and HSO3 − with two different set of colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescence signals. The novel probe CEFN was successfully applied for detection of the concentration of N2 H4 and HSO3 − in living HeLa cells. Highlights: This paper report a dual-response fluorescent probe based on nopinone. The dual-response fluorescent probe CEFN can simultaneous detect of N2 H4 and HSO3 − . The response behaviors of probe CEFN for N2 H4 and HSO3 − were investigated in detail. Probe CEFN was applied for detection of N2 H4 and HSO3 − in living HeLa cells. Abstract: A novel fluorescent probe 4-(4′-(2-cyano-3-ethoxy-3-oxoprop-1-en-1-yl)- [1, 1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)-2, 2-difluoro-7, 7-dimethyl-5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydro-2H-6, 8-methanobenzo[d][1, 3, 2]dioxaborinin-1-ium-2-uide (CEFN ) had been designed and developed for discriminative detection of N2 H4 and HSO3 − with two different sets of colorimetric and ratiometric fluorescence signals. The novel dual-response fluorescent probe CEFN can discriminative detect N2 H4 and HSO3 − with high selectivity, good sensitivity and fast response time. The response behaviors of probe CEFN for N2 H4 and HSO3 − were ascribed to different sensing mechanisms, which were investigated in detail by 1 H NMR, HRMS spectra. Furthermore, the probe CEFN could be served as a novel method for tracking N2 H4 and HSO3 − in living cells.
