Abstract

Abstract: In this research work hard turning on EN 31 was performed with indigenous developed Carbon Nano Tubes based Nano coating. Taguchi optimization of cutting forces with indigenous developed Carbon Nano tubes based Nano coated tool tip was done using ANOVA and S/N ratio. The input parameters were cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, type of coating and cutting conditions. The output parameter was cutting force. S/N ratio "Smaller the better" and ANOVA were used for data analysis. It was observed that depth of cut, type of tool and cutting conditions were the significant factors affecting cutting forces. Confirmatory Experiments were performed.
