Highlights: The 'dural' diaphragma sellae is elevated on the dome of growing pituitary tumor. Pituitary tumors frequently involve cavernous sinus but are confined in its dural walls. Elevation of dural roof of the cavernous sinus is a frequent observation. Transgression of dural boundaries is a rare event in giant pituitary tumors.
