- Abstract: This research reports an innovative production technique of a hammock-like patterned multiple-size nanofibrous membrane with amazing highly regular intelligent cell attachment potentialities which can open a novel era in tissue engineering. We also elucidate the mechanism of this intelligent patterned cell attachment. Interestingly, this mechanism is driven by the special architecture with the features comprehensively deliberated in the mechanism, not by the specific materials. Consequently, this architecture can also be designed using a variety of materials, with the required engineered features or functions tailored for each application, providing the main driving points of the mechanism. In this way, this research offers a prospering pathway and, concurrently, serves as a key major guideline to design many inspired research works and production procedures. On account of new discovery on the enzymatic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) biodegradation, this biocompatible polymer has a great potentiality to develop green biomedical devices with desirable durable features in the human body. Rewarding these features, we also report production technique of another PET-based sustainable product "a non-degradable anti-adhesive membrane". The anti-adhesive membranes are also subjected to in vitro cytotoxicity and cell attachment assays. The results reveal that the optimized pre- and after-treated electrospun nanocomposite nano-fibrous membrane can provide a promising biocompatible anti-adhesive membrane meeting pericardial substitute offer, etc. Accordingly, we facilitate controlled cell attachments from the smart regularly patterned cell attachment to the perfect non-degradable biocompatible anti-adhesive through perfectly designed nano-bioengineered sustainable textiles based on production well-engineered aligned bead-free sub-50 nm electrospun nanocomposite nanofibrous membrane and via appropriate green water-based surface engineering techniques.
