- Highlights: Overview of seven studies on social network research in teacher education. Uses the Intentional Network Design framework (Baker-Doyle & Yoon, 2018 ) to analyze outcomes of social network research. Includes implications for the design of future teacher professional development. Abstract: This article provides an overview and synthesis of seven artilces in a special issue focusing on the use of Social Network Analysis to study networks in teacher education. The article uses the Intentional Network Design framework (Baker-Doyle & Yoon, 2018 ) to explain the outcomes from the studies and analyze the potential for findings from social network research in education to influence future design of teacher education practices and programs.
