Abstract

Abstract : The Front Cover shows the Greek titan Atlas who was condemned to hold up the sky for eternity. Similar to this support of the celestial heavens, generally represented by a sphere, meridionally coordinating monoanionic spectator ligands stabilize metal complexes. PNP scaffolds that are based on a central N ‐heterocycle are particularly versatile ligand platforms, i.e. their pincer complexes are known for nearly all the d‐block metals. They are employed to stabilize highly reactive complex species and have found widespread application in homogeneous catalysis.
