- Abstract : Many membrane channels and transporters conduct water. Their reconstitution into giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) – here represented by the water tap – serves to assess their unitary hydraulic permeabilities. Boytsov, Hannesschlaeger, Horner, Siligan, and Pohl report the assay in article 1900450 . It is based on measurements of (i) GUV volume changes by micropipette‐aspiration and (ii) pore density by fluorescence correlation spectroscopy.
