- Abstract : Some venom‐derived drugs, such as captopril and exenatide, are already used therapeutically, and researchers are continuing to develop new venom‐based treatments for a wide range of conditions, including autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases, chronic pain and cancer. This article explores the potential for new venom‐based drugs and some of the problems researchers need to overcome.
