Abstract

Abstract: As part of the programme for documenting and studying Vasa, a Swedish royal ship of 1628, raised from Stockholm harbour in 1961, the author was given the opportunity to develop and implement a method of documenting the hidden structure—the frames—of this three‐decker. The method proved transferable to work under water as tested on the wreck of the Warwick, a ship lost in Castle Harbour, Bermuda in 1619. This article describes the method. Abstracto: Un método para documentar estructuras ocultas de pecios: el caso de Vasa y Warwick Como parte del programa para documentar y estudiar el Vasa, un barco real sueco de 1628, recuperado del puerto de Estocolmo en 1961; al autor le fue dada la oportunidad de desarrollar e implementar un método para documentar estructuras ocultas – cuadernas – de este buque de tres puentes. El método probó ser transferible al trabajo subacuático al ser probado en el pecio del Warwick, un barco perdido en el Puerto del Castillo (Castle Harbour), Bermuda en 1691. Este artículo describe el método.
