- Abstract: The most common construction material in the building and construction industry is concrete and cement is the main constitute ingredient of it. But the cement production is more energy consuming process, thus is costly and also adds up to 5-7% of total CO2 anthropogenic emissions resulting in global warming alerts. So there is need of alternate material which can replace cement. On the other side glass is an unavoidable component of our daily life, but it converts into a waste after being used and only 45% of the waste glass is being recycled. The Glass Fiber made from glass can be used in the construction world with much benefit. So in the present study an attempt is made to replace the cement by a green product in addition to A-R Glass fiber in it which is known as Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) and the strength properties is being studied. The GFRC was designed for M40 Grade concrete with partial replacement of the OPC with Silpozz in varying percentage of 5, 10 and 15 along with glass fiber in varying percentage of 0.16, 0.32 and 0.48 of the total cementitious Material in the concrete. The compressive and flexural strength test results at 7 and 28 days has been obtained. The maximum compressive strength of GFRC was obtained with the combination of 10% and 0.32% glass fiber as 77.3 MPa and the maximum flexural strength of GFRC was obtained with the combination of 10% and 0.48% glass fiber as 7.67MPa
