- Abstract:
- Highlights: Chronic alcohol ingestion induces cytochrome P4502E1. CYP-4502E1 activates procarcinogens, degradates retinoids and generates free radicals. Cytochrome P4502E1 is a pathogenic factor in alcoholic liver disease. Cytochrome P4502E1 is a pathogenic factor in alcohol mediated carcinogenesis. Inhibition of cytochrome P4502E1 improves alcoholic liver disease.
