- Abstract: Nanocrystalline Pr2 Co7 films deposited on Al2 O3 (0001) substrate have been investigated. The annealing temperature Ta and layer-thickness δ dependences of anisotropy of these films were studied using random magnetic anisotropy calculations and the ferromagnetic resonance measurements (FMR). Correlations between the microstructure and the magnetic anisotropy properties, in particular the effects of morphology, interfacial structure and surface anisotropy constant Ks, are discussed. Highlights: Microstructure and magnetic anisotropy properties of Pr2 Co7 /Al2 O3 films was studied. The Pr2 Co7 /Al2 O3 films have better magnetic anisotropy. The magnetic anisotropy Pr2 Co7 /Al2 O3 films were affected by the annealing temperature and thickness.
