The image depicts a simple method for the preparation of new insulin analogues with a particular interest in more stable analogues with extended shelf life. The two chains (designated A and B) exhibit a specific pattern of disulfide pairing. Traditional methods of synthesis, based on chain combination, are limited by slow and inefficient disulfide pairing ."
