Graphical abstract: Highlights: Bistachybotrysins W-Y, three new phenylspirodrimane dimers were isolated from Stachybotrys chartarum . Bistachybotrysins W-Y were featured with a 6/7 oxygen heterocycle as the linkage. Bistachybotrysins W-Y displayed moderate cytotoxic activity against human tumor cell lines HCT116, Daoy, and HepG2. Abstract: Bistachybotrysins W-Y (1 –3 ), three new phenylspirodrimane dimers with a 6/7 oxygen heterocycle as the linkage, were isolated from Stachybotrys chartarum CGMCC 3.5365. The structures of 1 –3 were elucidated through extensive spectroscopic data analysis, including 1D/2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS, and ECD spectra. Compounds 1 and 3 displayed moderate cytotoxic activity against human tumor cell lines HCT116, Daoy, and HepG2 with IC50 values ranging from 5.9 to 9.8 μM.
