- Highlights: The uniaxial compressive stress-strain curves of the MOSC capable of forming the 5 Mg(OH)2 ·MgSO4 ·7H2 O phase were obtained. The uniaxial compressive stress-strain curves of the MOSC are well fitted with the Guo's model. The cracking load of MOSC is higher than that of OPC. MOSC is more brittle than OPC. Abstract: To investigate the uniaxial compressive stress-strain curves of magnesium oxysulfate cement concrete (MOSC), a new type of magnesium oxysulfate (MOS) cement capable of forming the 5 Mg(OH)2 ·MgSO4 ·7H2 O phase (5·1·7 phase) was used to replace ordinary Portland cement (OPC) in specimens with C20-C65 strength grades, and the stress-strain curves of groups of three specimens with dimensions of 100 mm × 100 mm × 300 mm were obtained through uniaxial compression testing. The peak stress ( σ p ), peak strain (εp ), initial modulus of elasticity ( E c ), bending point and convergence point of the uniaxial compressive stress-strain curves of the MOSC are in good agreement with the model curves. Furthermore, the descending segment of the curve of MOSC is markedly steeper than that of OPC, indicating that MOSC is more brittle. According to the test results, the compressive stress-strain curves of the MOSC with C20-C65 strength grades are fitted.
