- Abstract : A test for the soybean sudden death syndrome (SDS) pathogen was recently developed using root tissue or soil samples to determine the quantity of the pathogen's DNA that is present. This was used to predict where the SDS hot spots were going to develop in the field. Soybean cyst nematode numbers were also found to be risk factors in predicting where the SDS hot spots and yield loss were going to occur.
