Abstract

Abstract : Objectives: Aortic reconstruction using self-made xenopericardial roll grafts were performed to treat infectious pseudoaneurysms or graft infection. Mid-term results were examined. Methods: From 2009 to 2013, orthotopic xenopericardial roll graft (10 × 10 cm of pericardial sheet made into a cylinder, 3 cm in diameter) replacement was performed for 8 patients. For arch reconstruction, small pericardial roll grafts were also used to replace neck vessels. Results: The results are presented in the Table below. Conclusion: As a non-synthetic material, xenopericardial roll graft replacement is simple and less invasive than the standard procedure. Considering our good results, this procedure may have the potential to serve as one of the choices to treat the graft/aortic infection not only as rescue but also for initial treatment.
