- Abstract: A simple synthesis of 2-aroylindoles via palladium-catalyzed tandem oxidative annulation directly from α-amino ketones has been developed. In this transformation, two-step reaction including oxidation of α-amino aetones to generate imine intermediates and subsequent palladium-catalyzed aerobic annulation to give 2-aroylindoles was compatible in one pot. Graphical abstract: Image 1 Highlights: Efficient synthesis of 2-aroylindoles from α-amino ketones. Palladium-catalyzed tandam oxidative reactions in one pot. Imines are the key intermediates.
