- Abstract : DOI: 10.1002/elps.201900170 The cover picture shows the introduction of analytical approaches (separation science and mass spectrometry) to "miniature‐organs" (organoids and organ‐on‐a‐chip devices). Miniature organs are predicted to be a highly valuable tool for drug development and developmental biology, complementing (and perhaps even replacing) animal models. However, the field is still considered to be in its infancy and is now on the verge of being coupled with many key analytical tools. The first author of the review "3D cell culture models and organ‐on‐a‐chip: Meet separation science and mass spectrometry", Ann Lin, was recentlyc listed on Forbes Magazine "30 under 30 in Science".
