- Abstract : Single carbon (C1) feedstocks are attractive for bioconversion, but native C1 assimilation pathways are difficult to engineer. Chou et al. developed a novel process for elongating the C1 compound formyl-CoA. Besides demonstrating a new approach for C1 bioconversion, this work paves the way for engineering synthetic methylotrophy into chassis organisms.
