Abstract

Abstract : The Cover Feature shows although the attempted reduction of ferrocenoyl‐anthracene to (9‐ferrocenylmethyl)anthracene, en route to (9‐ferrocenylmethyl)triptycene, gave the corresponding dihydroanthracene instead, this synthetic route was salvaged by taking advantage of the specific hydrolysis of a quaternary phosphonium salt, with elimination of the most stable anion.
