Abstract

Abstract: Spherical γ-In2 Se3 and flower-like γ-In2 Se3 are successfully prepared by simple hydrothermal method using absolute ethanol and deionized water as solvents, respectively. The microstructure, structure, chemical composition and optical properties of the prepared γ-In2 Se3 are studied by XRD, SEM, EDS, XRD, Raman, UV–vis and PL spectroscopy. The UV–vis absorption spectra show that spherical γ-In2 Se3 and flower-like γ-In2 Se3 have significant light absorption in both visible and near-ultraviolet light regions, where the absorption threshold is about 900 nm. In this work, the dose of CTAB as an active agent and stabilizer plays an important role in the morphology of gamma phase indium selenide. Our results reveal a new approach for the synthesis of γ-In2 Se3 with the better morphology and excellent optical properties.
