Abstract

Abstract : DOI: 10.1002/elps.201900240 The cover picture shows the analysis of an extract of Combretum aculeatum that contained punicalagin (PNG), an active ingredient with significant antimycobacterial activity against Tuberculosis (TB). A capillary electrophoresis method was developed for the quality control of aqueous extract of this plant used in Sénégal. This extract was evidenced thanks to an ethnopharmacological survey of a series of plants used for the treatment of TB considering that eighty percent (80%) of the population in Africa uses traditional medicine as a first method for treating afflictions.
