- Abstract:
- ABSTRACT: The body that doesn't fit in normative spaces—like airplane seats, classroom chairs, life jackets, and aisles—is constantly performing "annoying excess." Even stories about the stigma fat bodies endure can be seen as excessive, but having them amplified on stage creates both discomfort and profound learning in audience members. This performance piece explores the impact of the "performing excess" in public spaces.
