- Abstract: An electrochemical oxidative C−H sulfonylation of anilines without a metal catalyst and an external oxidant has been developed. Various sodium sulfinates are compatible, generating the desired products in up to 96% yield. Preliminary mechanism studies suggest that a radical cross‐coupling process is involved in this transformation. Abstract : Electric atmosphere : An efficient and environmentally friendly electrosynthesis of aryl sulfones via electrochemical oxidative C−H sulfonylation of anilines under metal‐free and external‐oxidant‐free conditions has been developed. A broad range of sodium sulfonates and anilines were compatible, and the reaction could be conducted on gram scale with high reaction efficiency.
