Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from J Clin Oncol 2019;37:1380–1390) The Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) protocol 172 demonstrated a median survival of 127.6 months with an intraperitoneal (IP) chemotherapy regimen compared with 82 months with an intravenous (IV) cisplatin-based chemotherapy regimen in women with stage 3 ovarian cancer and surgically resected disease. These findings represented an advancement in IP chemotherapy efficacy in ovarian cancer, although several phase 1 studies have concurrently found significant toxicity secondary to IP chemotherapy.
