- Abstract:
- Abstract : Eczema and dermatitis are both terms that are used to describe the inflammation of the skin, but the differences between them can be confusing. Practice nurses manage patients with eczema and dermatitis in primary care, and therefore they need to understand the definitions and differences between them. Atopic eczema is diagnosed by a clinical history-taking, assessing clinical signs and symptoms, whereas patch testing is required for a diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis.
