Abstract

Abstract : The second US-North Korea Summit, held on February 27-28, 2019, concluded without an agreement, contrary to most expectations. This article discusses the difference in the positions of the US and North Korea regarding negotiations for denuclearization and identifies the movements of the US, North Korea, and South Korea since the Hanoi summit. It concludes with recommendations for the course of action Japan should take toward promoting peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia.
