- Abstract: A single wire-electrode AC probe was developed to simultaneously and rapidly detect the polarization resistance, capacitance and totally accumulated change of metal resistance that can normally be obtained separately by EIS and a resistance sensor. After being successfully verified in different solutions, this single wire-electrode AC probe was employed to monitor the multi electrochemical parameters and corrosion behavior of pure Fe in 3.5% NaCl solution at room temperature and 95 °C. The results indicated that this method could reliably monitor the variation of instantaneous corrosion rate and accumulated corrosion damage without using a reference or counter electrode.
