- Highlights: Different approaches for change detection are considered for application in drill and blast tunnels. A local averaging approach is shown to provide improved accuracy over closest point approaches. The proposed methodology is applied to highly stressed mine excavations. Displacements measured using the point cloud data closely match extensometer measurements.
