Abstract

Abstract : The Cope rearrangement generally occurs under thermal conditions in the absence of catalyst (examples in red half). In their Communication onpage 15060 ff., Y. Zhang, W. Liu, R.‐T. Guo, et al. present the crystal structures of two groups of stigonematalean cyclases that catalyze Cope rearrangement under physiological conditions (structure example in blue half). Complex structures and mutagenesis results provide insights into substrate binding, catalytic residues, and mechanisms.
