- Abstract: Low-temperature bonding of glass substrates is of great interest in the field of microfluidic-based biosensing, and we study how laser welding could be used for this. This technology allows for the modification of glass channels with temperature-sensitive materials prior to bonding. We study the effects of the welding process by investigation of the thermal degradation of a biotin monolayer and whether it retains the ability to conjugate with fluorescently-labelled streptavidin.
