- Abstract : Metal cooperativity in a binuclear copper–guanidine complex enables aliphatic hydroxylation as known from the enzyme α‐hydroxylating monooxygenase (PHM). In the model complex reported, one copper atom is responsible for dioxygen activation, whereas the role of the second copper atom is to stabilize the product after C−H bond cleavage. Related mononuclear copper complexes, which do not profit from this cooperative effect, display no hydroxylation activity. More information can be found in the Full Paper by H.‐J.
