Abstract

ABSTRACT: The morphology of Chromolaena odorata biotypes from different altitudinal gradients in Western Cameroon was assessed and their antifungal activity was determined. C. odorata plants from altitudinal gradient of above 1, 000 m and beyond showed morphologically different features from the Asian–West African and the Southern Africa biotypes. Best inhibition zone was achieved for methanol extracted samples from Ndop (7.8 ± 0.6), followed by Ko-ZEB (7.0 ± 0.5), with the least for hexane-extracted samples from Ekona (3.6 ± 0.2). Methanol-extracted samples from Ndop had minimum inhibition concentration at 0.25 concentration of extract.
