Abstract

Abstract: 8-Hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde-(4'-hydroxyphenylacetyl) hydrazine (HL) and Its complexes ([Cd(L)2 ·CH3 CH2 OH·8H2 O] (1 ), [Cd(HL)2 ][CdCl4 ]·3CH3 CH2 OH·2H2 O] (2 ) were synthesized from 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde and 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetohydrazide as starting materials. The structures of two complexes have been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that both of complexes 1 and 2 crystallized in triclinic space group P ī. Also, the fluorescence properties of complex were studied by UV-Vis absorption by fluorescence spectroscopy, and the thermal stability was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis.
