- Abstract: Palladium complex of 2‐(diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde (P, N‐ligand) was immobilized on three different amino functionalized supports such as MCM‐41, SBA‐16, and Fe3 O4 nanoparticles (NPs) to evaluate their catalytic activity toward O‐arylation reaction. Catalytic results showed that P, N−Pd‐MCM‐41 catalyst exhibited much higher activity than the other two catalysts due to the higher active surface sites and could be reused for several runs without significant loss in its catalytic activity. Notably, the reaction was done under solvent‐free condition which is important from the green chemistry point of view. The catalysts were characterized by different techniques including X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), transmission electron micrograph (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDS), elemental analysis (CHN), inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy, and N2 adsorption–desorption analysis. Abstract : Novel P, N−Pd catalysts using three different supports (MCM‐41, SBA‐16, and Fe3 O4 nanoparticles) were synthesized and applied for O‐arylation reactions in solventless conditions.The P, N−Pd‐MCM‐41 catalyst exhibited much higher activity than the other two catalysts and was successfully recycled for at least 4 times in consecutive runs.
