- Highlights: Engineered cementitious composites (ECC) with PVA fibers is ductile but expensive. The use of PVA-ECC is limited due to cost and absence of coarse aggregates. PVA-FRC utilizes lesser cost and the use of large size aggregates in concrete. The compressive stress–strain models are not available for PVA-FRC. This paper suggests the compressive stress–strain models for PVA-FRC. Abstract: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber is limitedly investigated in the concrete containing large size coarse aggregates. Correspondingly, there is limited literature available related to the modeling of its mechanical properties. This paper suggests a model for the prediction of stress–strain behavior of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) containing maximum size of coarse aggregate of 19 mm and reinforced with 1–3% PVA fiber volume. The compressive strength of FRC ranged from 72 to 86 MPa due to the incorporation of 10% silica fume and metakaolin as partial cement replacement. The suggested analytical model is found to be proficient of producing complete stress–strain curves for FRC containing PVA fibers and closely represents the realistic stress–strain curves when compared with the experimental data. Besides this, the accuracy of existing analytical models is also discussed.
