- Abstract: The γ‐Al2 O3 supported Ni2 P catalysts for propane dehydrogenation were prepared by one‐pot method and evaluated to study the platinum‐like behaviour of Ni2 P. The catalysts were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy‐dispersive X‐ray Spectrometer (EDS), N2 adsorption at −196 o C and temperature‐programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3 ‐TPD). Results show that Ni2 P is beneficial to the catalytic stability. It exhibits higher conversion for PDH of 23.8% and propylene selectivity of 74.4%. Abstract : Ni2 P was directly synthesised on the support γ‐Al2 O3 to prepare the catalyst Ni2 P/γ‐Al2 O3 . 20%Ni2 P/γ‐Al2 O3 shows a lasting high activity unlike 0.5%Pt/γ‐Al2 O3 for 600 min. It exhibits conversion for PDH nearby 20% and propylene selectivity about 70%
