Abstract

Abstract : This year's winners of the Society for Information Display's Honors and Awards include Dr. Katsumi Kondo, who will receive the Karl Ferdinand Braun Prize for his contributions to the development of in‐plane‐switching (IPS) TFT‐LCD technology; Dr. Dirk J. Broer, who will receive the Jan Rajchman Prize for his discovery and development of UV‐polymerizable liquid‐crystalline polymers; Candice Brown Elliott, who will be awarded the Otto Schade Prize for her development of PenTile display technology; Dr. Han‐Ping Shieh, who will be awarded the Slottow‐Owaki Prize for his contributions to the education and training of students and professionals in the display field; and Jenny Bach, who will receive the Lewis & Beatrice Winner Award for her sustained services and contributions to the SID organization.
