- Abstract: This work described a novel and efficient synthesis of 3-amino-4-cyano-5-phenyl-1 H -pyrrole-2-carboxamides. The synthesis was carried out via a simple three-component reaction between arylidenmalononitrile, malononitrile and hydroxylamine hydrochloride in solvent-free conditions. Short reaction times, good to excellent yields of products, inexpensive and readily available starting material, and time and energy saving are the main advantages of this method. The structures of the products were confirmed by 1 HNMR, 13 CNMR, IR and single crystal X-ray analysis. Graphical abstract:
