Abstract

Abstract : In article number1807359, Hai‐Quan Mao, Jonathan P. Schneck, and co‐workers introduce an artificial T‐cell stimulating matrix (aTM), a biomimetic hydrogel‐based matrix that presents T‐cell stimulatory signals. The aTM with optimized stimulatory properties effectively potentiates T‐cell signaling, skews the phenotypes of both murine and human T cells, and ultimately generates anti‐tumor T cells that suppress tumor growth in mice. The interaction of the T cells with the aTM and stimulatory ligands, leading to T‐cell activation and expansion, is illustrated.
