Abstract

Abstract : Chemodivergent functionalizations of N‐alkylated ortho ‐alkenylanilines have been achieved employing either rhodium catalyzed cross‐dehydrogenative coupling or silver mediated oxidative cyclization. The developed methods tolerate diverse functional groups and allow the synthesis of substituted indoles and quinolines in good to excellent yields. A mechanism is also proposed based on preliminary mechanistic investigations.
