Graphical abstract: The reaction of Na9 [α-B-SbW9 O33 ] with Na2 MoO4 results in the formation of new mixed W/Mo [{β-B-SbM9 O33 }2 (µ-MO2 )2 ] 14− polyanions. Abstract: The reaction of Na9 [α-B-SbW9 O33 ]·19.5H2 O with Na2 MoO4 results in the formation of new mixed W/Mo polyanions, isolated as various salts, (Me2 NH2 )11 Na[Sb2 Mo4 W16 O70 (MoO2 )]·17H2 O (1a ) and (Me4 N)6 Na5 [Sb2 Mo3.5 W16.5 O70 (MoO2 )1.5 ]·27H2 O (2 ). Both1a and2 were characterized by XRD, XRPD, IR, Raman spectra and elemental analysis. According to HPLC-ICP-AES, both1a and2 equilibrate in aqueous solutions with the constituent {SbM9 } anions.
