Abstract : Abstract: Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy is an opportunistic infection well described in non–human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients receiving rituximab in whom it is associated with high mortality. Although immune reconstitution contributes the most to recovery in HIV-positive patients, no viable treatment option exists for non-HIV patients. We describe a case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy in a patient who received rituximab, treated with the investigational agent CMX001.
